The single-click style of controls shines on small screens and avoids the pitfalls of more complex methods. Sound design and the overall aesthetic, while simple, suit the setting and build a world that has become something of a sleeper hit. The game features an exciting and addictive plot which remains easy to drop in and out of despite the complex design.

It may be something of a gamble to buy a premium adventure game that relies so heavily on a style of games unfamiliar to most. Fans of old point and click adventures like King's Quest will feel right at home but if you are a fan of enthralling adventure games in general, Rusty Lake: Roots may be worth a try.
